Market Registration & Compliance Manager
About Stark
Stark builds the world’s most powerful electric motorcycles. From the VARG MX to the road-legal VARG EX & SM, our bikes have won world championships and are engineered to outperform anything with a combustion engine.
We’re based in Sant Boi, Barcelona, growing fast (77% year-on-year), and building a team that will take us even further. If you want to work on a product that people are genuinely obsessed with, this is it.
Our mission is to lead the way towards a sustainable motorcycle industry, by reducing plastic and CO2 pollution. This will be achieved by building sustainable products that are superior to traditional technology in terms of Performance, Emotion and Design.
The Role
We are seeking a results-driven and experienced professional to join our team as Market Registration & Compliance Manager. In this critical global role, you will design, implement, and own the end-to-end vehicle registration processes across diverse markets. You will ensure compliance with country-specific regulatory frameworks and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to enable operational excellence and market success.
The end goal is a ready-to-ride experience in every market: the customer orders and receives the motorcycle registered, with plates, through a service Stark Future charges for. Registration will become a profit-generating service, and this role will build and lead the team that delivers it.
What You’ll Do
Develop and implement country-specific registration strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for OEM registration, VIN pre-registration, import processes, licensing, and distribution.
Collaborate with finance and legal teams on the VAT models and legal entity structures required for specific country vehicle registration processes.
Own the end-to-end vehicle registration workflows and processes, including acquiring plate numbers and necessary documentation.
Monitor and interpret changes in market regulations, industry standards, and trends impacting vehicle registration and distribution.
Collaborate with legal, government agencies and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
Serve as the primary escalation point for registration-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and optimization of processes.
Develop contingency plans to mitigate regulatory risks and challenges.
Manage the relationships and performance of external registration partners, fostering effective collaboration and compliance.
Supervise daily operations with external stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate execution of registration-related tasks.
Document and refine end-to-end processes for regulatory compliance and vehicle registration activities.
Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
What you will bring to Stark
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Extensive experience in market compliance, regulatory operations, and vehicle registration.
Proven track record of managing global regulatory activities and collaborating with external partners.
Strong knowledge of country-specific regulatory frameworks and vehicle registration processes.
Excellent analytical, project management, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Fluent English; Spanish and additional languages are a plus.
