The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Head of General Ledger and Consolidation to join our finance team in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing company. This role is responsible for overseeing the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company’s general ledger accounting and financial consolidation processes across all business units and legal entities. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in financial reporting, compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate consolidated financial statements.
What You’ll Do
General Ledger
Supervise daily, monthly, and year-end closing activities for the general ledger.
Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in compliance with internal policies and accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/Spanish GAAP).
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, resolve discrepancies, and ensure account accuracy.
Coordinate with various departments (e.g., procurement, manufacturing, sales, logistics…) to ensure completeness and correctness of journal entries.
Lead the financial audit process. Being he main point of contact for the auditors and ensuring the process is completed effectively.
Financial Consolidation
Prepare and lead the monthly and annual consolidation of multiple subsidiaries.
Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Prepare consolidated annual report in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Manage intercompany eliminations and ensure proper reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
Maintain and improve the consolidation system/tools (e.g., SAP BPC, HFM, OneStream).
Compliance and Controls
Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
Support implementation and continuous improvement of financial controls and processes.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants and finance professionals.
Collaborate with other departments to continuously improve financial processes and information flows.
Support CFO and Financial Controler on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives as required.
What you will bring to Stark
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial consolidation roles, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
Strong understanding of consolidation principles and multi-entity accounting.
Proficiency with ERP systems. Experience in Microsoft Dynamics is preferable.
Advanced level of Microsoft Office package (Excel and Word mostly)
Solid knowledge of IFRS and ES GAAP.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities with experience managing a team.
Experience in a multinational company or working in a shared service center environment.
Understanding of cost accounting and manufacturing supply chain financials is a plus.
